Presenter:
Angela Wilson This workshop outlines low cost strategies and activities teachers can use to help adolescents with special needs become more effective and efficient learners in an inclusive environment, especially in English, History and Geography, as effective teaching practices are similar in these subjects. The strategies need frequent use, with guided practice, and frequent feedback, before the student will use them regularly and aim to motivate students with problem-based and exploratory activities.
What to bring:An open mind, lots of questions to ask, a desire to share existing knowledge, pen and paper.

The detail in coverage and range of teaching strategies available to us to engage students with special needs has helped me to infuse new enthusiasm in working with my students.
Great content and presented well.

An agenda would have been nice to have: Timing of each session. A lot of information - seemed rushed at times. Group activities, more interaction with others to see what they do at schools. Great take home resources. Will use quite a few of them.
Felt there were some very good ideas - practical and informative!! Bit rushed at the end.
A lot of learning in such a short time.
I have taken away a lot from this course - thank you.
Lots of strategies to use - would have been good to spend some more time on some of the strategies.
Angela was very passionate, enthusiastic and knowledgable, however a little too much information. Perhaps some workshopping would have been good to break up the day. Great references to resources. Thanks.
What a great presenter - a wealth of knowledge, experience and a personality I was privileged to meet and learn from her.
Could be a two day course- but not in a row, I would overload.
There is a lot of information to take in for one day. It is very useful though and the amount of resources are very motivating.
Practical strategies to use in the classroom. Angela is knowledgable and passionate.

Lots of information and strategies given. Perhaps this course is more suited to a full-time teacher of special needs - I was hoping for a few more subject specific ideas for skill learning in Geography.
