(Previously called 'Teaching for Understanding Stage4 Course2') This workshop is a detailed examination of a quality teaching approach within Stage 4 Maths. The basis to teaching conceptually lies in enabling students to become engaged, work mathematically and to make the connections necessary for conceptual understanding to occur. Open-ended questioning, assessment for learning and inquiry-based teaching are key strategies which will be demonstrated through the topics Measurement, Pythagoras, Space and Geometry, Data and Directed Number. During the Pythagoras and Space- Geometry sections the free dynamic software 'GeoGebra' will be used to bring these topic 'alive'. Participants will receive numerous GeoGebra files ready for immediately implementation in the classroom.

What to bring:

Please bring a pen and note paper and if possible a USB stick. Also a calculator would be beneficial, but not essential.
