Presenter: Karen Burke

This course is a follow up to 'Creating a Quality Assessment Task', although it can also be attended in isolation. It will be particularly helpful to Early career Teachers who are building their accreditation documents, as well as teachers who are looking at ways to incorporate the Quality Teaching Framework and Syllabus bookend components into their units of work. Previously named "Backward Mapping:Programming for Alignment" During the day, we will look at how to align what we teach with what we are assessing - so there is consistency and alignment for our students in our Teaching and Learning Programs. By the end of the day, you will walk away with a Quality Teaching and Learning Program for at least ONE unit of work, that leads your students to succeed in achieving the Rich Task you have developed for them.

What to bring:

Stages 4/5/6 Syllabuses, at least one Teaching & Learning Program with the linked Assessment Task, highlighters, post-it notes, paper, thumb drive, and laptop (if desired).

It was really useful, the way it was presented made it easy to understand. Great group of resources and examples.
Karren's approach allowed for all the participants to learn how to effectively create a quality teaching and learning program.
Just what I needed - lots of pennies dropped!
Needed ideas on how to incorporate QT into program. Also, changed my method of programming.
The knowledge gained today is very useful in everyday teaching and learning process. Will defiantly use and share with my colleagues. Thanks Karen.
Karen explained the course information clearly and with zest. She helped decipher documents and school systems that I had struggled with for ages. She also gave me valuable tips, ideas, and strategies for workplace relations.
Methodical and well presented course with context for writing a program well explained.
Great ideas, practical advice and hands on learning.
Excellent presenter who understands the life of a teacher. Would have been more beneficial for me if I attended the day before.
