If you are planning to study a new text, looking for a fresh approach to teach an old favorite or simply seeking strategies to provide more variety in your teaching, this seminar provides practical new approaches for teaching texts in the English classroom. Activities explored include: engaging approaches for introducing challenging texts, creative writing exercises for teaching prose and poetry, easy to implement extension activities for able students and a host of innovative assessment and feedback strategies for building student engagement and reflection. Teachers completing this seminar will have a host of new highly adaptable activities for teaching poetry, plays, novels and films in the everyday classroom.
