This is a 6-week ONLINE course requiring 1-2 hours per week of input from participants. This course is both for competent secondary teachers who desire to improve their students' motivation and engagement and/or teachers who require more urgent assistance with student management. The course demonstrates links between rapport with students, lesson structure, engagement, praise and effective student management. A feature will be the use of several excellent videos showcasing teachers working with a teaching consultant and featuring strategies relevant to all subject areas. The online structure of the course and the fact that it runs over many weeks allows participants to reflect deeply on their teaching, to trial some of the strategies with their students and to report back on their strategy-trial experiences via the online forum.
