Exploring the Science Fiction genre and the roles of science and technology in the representation of new worlds. A range of concerns, styles and textual forms will be examined but textual focus will be on only TWO of the four prescribed texts, 'Brave New World' and 'Neuromancer'. Workshop aims to familiarize participants with syllabus demands, course content, skills and knowledge. Evaluation of prescribed and related texts would focus on developing confidence with incorporating innovative and best practice teaching and learning strategies. Methods to better engage students and maximise their response skills would be a key element throughout the day, as would the value of sharing resources, expertise and teaching experience in relation to this course.

What to bring:

Laptops would be useful for note taking and resource sharing.The names or websites of any useful resources would also be beneficial to broaden the resource pool.
