This ONLINE course runs over 5 weeks and is for teachers of Visual Arts and Photographic and Digital Media. It is a beginners course that focuses on online teaching and learning strategies. Participants will examine the impact of ICT on education, changes in the learning style of today's students, and key features of an effective online environment. They will also explore various Web 2.0 applications and strategies for their use in the Visual Arts and Photographic and Digital Media classrooms. Teachers will be given the opportunity to adapt a unit of work to incorporate ICT. They will then be shown how to create an online teaching and learning resource using Google Sites and various Web 2.0 applications. Participants will finish the course having created a simple web site with a number of online activities that their students can engage in the very next lesson.
