Presenter:
Luise Guest Some new approaches to critical and historical studies (appropriate for both Stage 5 and 6) with a specific literacy and curriculum differentiation focus. This course will assist participants to use contemporary art from Australia, Asia and the Pacific region to engage and challenge students in Years 9 - 12. Interesting new resources, including Powerpoints with images and selected readings, will be provided for participants to use in their own schools. Participants will work on developing a differentiated task using contemporary artists, artworks and artworld issues which are appropriate to their own students in Stages 5 or 6. Ways of 'joining the dots' between student artmaking and critical/historical study, and between case studies and assessment tasks, will also be a focus of this course.
What to bring:Syllabus documents and any favourite textbook used in your school (this may be of assistance in designing the assessment task)
A laptop may be helpful but is not essential

          | Middle section of the day very engaging and rewarding. Could be good to set up a site where we all share what we have done. I have a new understanding of China/ Australian art now. A whole new area to investigate - a great awakening to new content and viewpoints. |
