Presenter:
Morris Needleman This course is multi-faceted. We will explore some of the myths surrounding the gifted in the light of what neuro-science informs us.
We will look at understanding intelligences and examine various theories, including Gardner's multiple intelligences and Gagne's model amongst others.
Fundamental to this course will be how to challenge the gifted brain and address the issues of underachieving gifted students.
All this material will be delivered within a framework of creating improved programs and learning environments for the gifted and talented.
Based on the work of Dr David Sousa this course seeks to separate fact from fiction and provide teachers with strategies to engage gifted artistic and intellectual learners.
Morris Needleman will present the course. A winner of a National Quality Teaching Award in 2006, he is a sought after speaker at schools and conferences.

Very insightful. Have lots of food for thought.
I found this information naturally intuitive. It was very helpful to consolidate my suspicions on learning styles. Morris is a very natural speaker. Really liked his relaxed, experienced driven, approach.
Helpful information on dealing with gifted children.
Good powerpoints that summarised a gammat of information and research on the brain and gifted.
One suggestion - provide a handout for the powerpoints so we can write additional comments as the day progresses.

The morning session was excellent. The afternoon catered for non-selective schools and was not relevant to a selective school teacher. I wanted info on how to address under-achievers and G+T students.
Interesting to learn more about the brain.
Small group meant that people felt comfortable sharing experiences. Powerpoint presentation will be used to support changes I wish to implement at my work place.
A lot of talking - would have appreciated opportunities to do more hands-on activities and how to differentiate the curriculum.
Great information on how to identify different areas of giftedness.
Maybe 2nd day to work on hands-on plans/ program for uni of work to gifted students.
