Presenter: Barbara Stanners
Standard English Course - Module C, Into the World elective Workshop examines Module C requirements as well as a detailed examination of the film prescribed text, "Billy Elliot". Teaching and Learning skills will be a focus as well as useful classroom resources. Teachers are encouraged to share resources. Participants are strongly advised to bring a USB/laptop to facilitate this within the group.
What to bring:Participants are STRONGLY advised to bring a USB and/or laptop to the workshop. Writing paper is also advised as many teachers prefer to take notes and not write in their course booklet. Participants are encouraged to bring copies of effective resources (handout or digital)to maximise professional development of the day.

| I thought annotating the songs tedious; we all know how to do this to teach students to annotate. The point that song lyrics can be used as effective related texts could have been made much more quickly and time efficiently without this. |
