On the surface, the Content Descriptions in The Australian Mathematics Curriculum appear rigid and lock-step. Participants in this course will see how it is possible to work within the broad strokes of the document and still cater for students of all abilities and preferred learning styles. It will explore the needs of the more able student as well as those of the struggling student. Teachers will be exposed to a range of sample activities that provide differentiated learning experiences based on quality pedagogical practices. Teachers are asked to bring a copy of a topic area in the Australian Curriculum so they can apply these principles in planning a differentiated unit of their choice.
What to bring:Teachers are required to bring a copy of a topic area in the Australian Curriculum and writing paper.
