AGT00 Practical Strategies for Creating Engaged and Cooperative Classrooms - Online Course Course rating:

Course Description
Presenter: Glen Pearsall

This ONLINE course is based on the best selling 'And Gladly Teach,' a teacher handbook for fostering student engagement and building cooperative classrooms. AGT is designed around a simple idea: that teachers want practical, easy-to-use examples of how to put the latest thinking on teaching into their everyday classrooms. Indeed the test for whether or not an activity made in into the book was not just whether it was backed by research but whether it also worked in real classrooms on hot Friday afternoons. This workshop is an extension of the AGT. It gives participants a chance to trial the highly effective engagement and cooperative classroom strategies from the book; getting individualized feedback on how to make the most out of these techniques in a way that best suits their specific school situation. The product of partnership between TTA and TLN Press, this is a rare opportunity to work closely with a leading educational author as your personal Teacher-Coach.

The initial screen showing the video clips as thumbnails was confusing. I didn't know what order they should be in and the titles were ambiguous. When i wnated to make 2 posts to a forum at different time i couldn't.
I found the course content extremely useful and different strategies have worked better in different classrooms. The hardest part is probably picking some things to really focus on doing well, before implementing others, instead of trying to implement everything and not doing it as effectively. The praise strategies worked the best in my classes.
This course was fantastic. I trailed many of the suggested activities with several of my classes with great success! Thanks for the brilliant ideas.
Fantastic. The content was interesting and as a casual I was still able to do the activities in my teaching quite easily. I will use the strategies I have learnt in my future teaching. Thankyou!
