Presenter: Denise Skidmore

This essential one-day workshop provides an opportunity for teaching staff and coaches to review the characteristics of effective teaching and learning against the national Professional Standards for Teachers. Participants will also build their skills and confidence in giving and receiving feedback within collegial teams, in order to support continuous improvement in the quality of teaching and learning. The program will give guidance on how to carry out lesson observations and will cover: • how to recognise the quality of lessons by referring to the NPS for Teachers; - what to record and how to record it; - providing useful feedback to colleagues; - how to appreciate the benefits of observing, and being observed by colleagues; and - how to undertake supportive and collaborative classroom observations
