Ancient History is now the most popular HSC History course in NSW and the demand for teachers conversant in the subject is steadily increasing. This one day course will provide teachers new to the subject with ideas, inspiration and resources that can be applied in the classroom. During the course of the day participants will be provided with an overview of a well designed course of study for the Preliminary and HSC Ancient History course as well as detailed exploration of a number of individual Case Studies and the Core. The course will also provide opportunities for developing assessment tasks and marking criteria; as well as sample marking. Teachers attending will have access to extensive teaching notes, to use in the classroom.
