Course Description
Presenter: Janette Planck

The teen years are ones of risk taking, exploration, emotions and increased self-consciousness. Yet experienced educators know teens need structure, organisation and role modeling to ensure productive mental habits and enduring learning occur. In fact our students will need habits of mind and learning skills far beyond current society requirements. The brain’s natural learning systems can be consciously taken advantage of to ensure deep learning - learning that also forms habits; valued patterns of thinking essential for success. This workshop reveals pedagogical applications suited to all KLA’s for classroom instruction that can influence and support the development of dispositions and habits in students, using researched-based, brain compatible instructional strategies. Solve the confusion of adolescence, learn how to teach for enduring learning, energise your students and teaching while habituating various Habits of the Mind by implementing these easy, take home strategies.
