This ONLINE course introduces participants to the guiding principles used when creating grading tools for assessment in Languages. In relation to Languages as a Learning Area, participants will listen to exposition related to assessment design, the principles of alignment of curriculum, pedagogy and assessment, the notion of threshold quality, the importance of standards descriptors and criteria. Participants will critique grading tools for Languages and design their own grading tool for a Language assessment task of their choice using provided templates.
