Presenter Information

Jim is currently teaching Music and VET Entertainment at Santa Sabina College, Strathfield. A professional musician before becoming a teacher, this is where his skills with music technology were founded. Jim’s specialty area is the integration of technology into the classroom, both music & Web 2.0 based, using Apple software. He has been focussed on the Music 1 course and the challenges that face students in composition, particularly for those students who have not followed an Elective pathway. He is IT integrator for the music department & in recent times he has been invited to speak about music technology and it’s effective use, both within my College & CaSPA workshops. He has also been working with Apple to write a series of lesson guides to be posted on the Apple Learning Interchange site. He is a registered Apple Classroom Educator & working to become an Apple Distinguished Educator. He has a B(Mus), B(Teach) and is currently studying Master of Music Technology at Newcastle Uni.
