Presenter Information

Shannon has taught Japanese at both primary and secondary schools in Australia. She enjoys the theoretical side of language teaching, and completed a Master in Applied Linguistics in 2006. She is a staunch supporter of practical and real-life guidance for teachers, and has produced two teacher resource books, as well as several articles. For the past 10 years Shannon has presented workshops at a local, state and national level, on a range of topics, including reading strategies and literacy, collegial networking, and promoting languages. She has been heavily involved in the MLTAQ, and won an excellence award for her efforts in 2009. She has for the past 10 years been involved in online resource networking, and runs a website that is currently visited by over 1,000 teachers a month.
