Course Description

A whole school approach to teach your students the language so they can be word scientists for life.

The course will cover etymology, morphology, affixes, base words, (bound and free) prefixes, suffixes, grammar and much more.

During the session we will cover all the terms, prefixes, suffixes, base words in the suggested developmental sequence with the national Literacy Progressions. Patricipants ill receive a powerpoint and PDF for each grade level.

There will be many practical ideas of how to implement this in your classroom straight away.

I am an enthusiastic, energetic, passionate teacher/author with 30 years of teaching experience. I have a Bachelor of Education, Graduate Diploma in Special Education, Masters in Special Education and am a qualified “Literate for Life, LEM Phonic” instructor. . I have run a tutoring business since 1994. I was the coordinator of the SPELD Victoria Learning Centre for over 8 years. I am the author many spelling, grammar and maths books, the latest being co-author of the Australian Supplement of Words Their Way. I have presented for SPELD, LDA, Pearson, all around Australia and have presented at many international conferences.
